About Me

I like drinking tea, but I don't like dunking biscuits (you get a build up of crumbs and it's gross).

Monday 31 December 2012

It's New-years eve! 2012 was a grand'ol' year for everyone. Who remembers the 6th of February? Twas the day of the Queens Diamond Jubilee, 60 years on the throne for Lizzie. Then came THE OLYMPICS (read as if read through a megaphone), who could imagine that Britain could achieve 29 gold medals and 65 total, amazing! And of course the Paralympics, 34 gold medals and a whopping 120 medals in total! Curiosity arose on Mars with the Curiosity Rover, the first time a video camera had been taken to another planet, trying to discover the possibility of life on Mars! And who can forget 21/12/12, the day the world ended. Lets hope that 2013 (not pronounced 20-13) gives another fun filled year :).

Thursday 27 December 2012

Hello world, long(ish) time, no speak. Lets start with a fact, a peeled orange will sink but a un-peeled one won't! Whereas watermelons sink either way :). I hope everyone had a delightful Christmas. My mum is currently preparing for the arrival of my brothers girlfriends family, who arriving tomorrow... for dinner, about 7'o'clock. So I don't have the foggiest why she is doing all the work now, if I were her, I would be hoovering (possibly) about 5'o'clock on the same day they were arriving. But as she has just hoovered, she might not be hoovering tomorrow. Soooooooo. I have forgotten what I was going to say. Therefore I shall fill some space with another fact, and possibly a joke. The Biggest Dinosaurs were: Saurpods. Seismosaurus was 165 feet long (it's tail helped!). Arentinosaurus was the heaviest at 100 tons. The Brachiosaurus was 39 feet high (which helped it reach branches in trees). Giganotosaurus was the largest hunting dinosaur, at 46 feet long and up to 8 tons! And lastly, Why did the T.Rex cross the road? It hadn't evolved into a chicken yet :)

48 hours

So, it's Christmas eve's eve, less than 48 hours until the big day. Santa will be sliding down are chimneys in approximately 37 hours. Now, if you like Christmas, but are sceptical that 'Santa Claus' can deliver presents to the millions of children across the globe. Maybe this lecture by Brian Cox will help you to make your mind up about the man in red -     http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2011-12-18/brian-cox-can-santa-travel-faster-than-the-speed-of-light. If you're not the kind of guy or gall to analyse Santa, perhaps you're a mother, a father or a biologist who doesn't give a stuff about a quantum theory, maybe this somewhat twisted version of 'The Night Before Christmas' will humour your humorous - 'Twas the night before Christmas - Mum Style    .

Charity at School

Yes! I have been waiting for this day and now it's here! It's the last day of Autumn term! Today is a half day,non-uniform day, and charities day (a morning of over excited year 7's, hyped up on sugar being overenthusiastic about raising money , for a good cause). Don't get me wrong, I love raising money for charities, I gave money to the Movember moustache growers, I give money to people with buckets ect ect...
But I have a thing about raising money at school. We raise money at school almost 24/7, non-uniform this, disco that. Now, here is my actual complaint about raising money as school, all of the money goes to charities that get money thrown at them, Eden Valley Hospice and Cancer Research spring to mind instantaneously. I think we need to raise money for small charities that don't get every bodies funds, that don't have a day dedicated to them and that don't have little badges or keyrings to support them.
Ahhh, Rant over :) have a lovely day, and it's only 5 days to Christmas, be merry :D

Monday 17 December 2012

Today, is a day (according to government rules) for learning. In my experience, not much learning goes on, on a Monday. There fore I think Mondays should be days for not getting out of bed and for not getting dressed. But I don't have a say in the governments rules, so I had to go for school, even if my alarm never went off and I was running 20 minutes late!
Firstly I had English, not any old English but English Language. The most dreary of the English's.But as an added bonus to the hour, we had a sub, a replacement, a pain in the back side. Whoever she was she arrived late (strike 1), secondly she gave the class paper and highlighters (strike 2), then just to top it off, she expected us to do work, on a Monday, at 9 o'clock (strike 3, and you're out! Game Over). Anyway after that the day seemed to get better, I finished my maths book (I do love new books), my chemistry book turned up and I actually had fun in P.E!

Sunday 16 December 2012

Today was the day. We hoisted up the Christmas Tree, the large evergreen tree which is at the heart of every home at Christmas time. Firstly you put on the lights, those little LEDs which look like tiny sparkly fairies. Now, I have a theory, Christmas trees light designers deliberately make sure 100% that they the wires will be more tangled than long hair that hasn't been conditioned in a year. The simple fact is that more arguments among families are caused by tangled tree lights than affairs or teenage pregnancy. Anyway, after those twinkley gems are balanced on branches  you put on the baubles. On our tree each bauble has a story (apart from those cheap ones that you buy in January and no-one cares about), some are from New York, some are ones which me and my brother made those many years ago in nursery and others are simply beautiful.

The first one.

Ah. So Bloggers, it's almost Christmas....EXCITEMENT. This is my first post, (well there can only be one) and I need a subject to talk about. As it is almost the most wonderful time of the year, I shall talk about my favourite thing at Christmas.. Christmas Jumpers.... I love them! They are comical, cute and most of all super cozy :) I think there should be national *Wear the best Xmas jumper you can find* day, actually there should be a  international *Wear the best Xmas jumper you can find* day.
There we go... my first post. And if I decide to take over the world I shall make a international *Wear the best Xmas jumper you can find* day.
